MSX International moves UK headquarters to Knowledge Gateway

The ink is still drying on the latest tenancy agreement at Parkside on the Knowledge Gateway, the bustling research and technology park at the University of Essex.

The newest addition to the enterprising business community at the University’s Colchester Campus is MSX International (MSX), which has been located in the city for over 30 years and is relocating its UK headquarters from The Octagon at Middleborough in a move scheduled for 14 August this year.

MSX works with automotive manufacturers on an international scale, both well-established brands such as Ford, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, and Hyundai, as well as new market entrants.

Using advanced data analytics and custom software, the company improves business processes like warranty services, parts management and customer engagement to enhance performance, increase profitability, and improve customer satisfaction across automotive dealership networks.

David Branchflower, Group Financial Controller at MSX International, explained the decision to move to the Knowledge Gateway: “Having previously leased office space there, we are familiar with the excellent working environment the site offers.

“We have also previously collaborated with the university to support student placements and courses and are keen to build relationships with other businesses at the Knowledge Gateway to explore opportunities for future collaborations.

“Being on their doorstep will make this much easier.”

MSX employs over 5,000 staff across 30 offices in 60 countries. Maintaining a UK headquarters in Essex is crucial for MSX, as many of the company’s key clients are based in the area. It also enables the business to continue to benefit from a locally based, highly skilled and experienced workforce.

Commenting on the move from the University’s perspective, Jamie Burns, Head of Operations at the Knowledge Gateway, said: “We are so excited to be welcoming MSX to our landmark building on Parkside. MSX is a global leader which will bring so much to the Knowledge Gateway and the wider university business eco-system.”

MSX required office space better suited to its future needs, including desk space for up to 50 staff at any one time, in line with the company’s flexible and hybrid working policy.

MSX will be moving into the newly completed £10.7m Clingoe House at Parkside on the Knowledge Gateway. Clingoe House is in a landmark position at the very entrance of the Knowledge Gateway. It sits next to the first and second phase of Parkside Office Village plus the Innovation Centre with Essex Business School close-by and the centre of the Colchester Campus and award-winning parkland just a short walk away.

Further space is available at Clingoe House with suites available from 1,873 sq. ft to 32,432 sq. ft.
